WHO calculates the global cost of vaccination

The World Health Organization will need $ 35 billion to $ 45 billion to vaccinate the majority of the world's adult population against coronavirus in 2022

This was stated by the head of the WHO, Tedros Ghebreyesus. He recalled that this year the international partnership needs to be financed for $ 19 billion. These funds will be used to provide access to drugs for coronavirus and ACT-Accelerator diagnostics.

“We estimate that next year we will need another $ 35-45 billion to vaccinate the majority of adults around the world,” Gebreyesus said.

According to the organization, 1,045,850,203 doses of vaccines have been administered worldwide. At the same time, 121 low- and middle-income countries received almost 50 million doses of vaccines under the Covax program.

Earlier, WHO warned the world about the dangers of the Indian strain of COVID-19.
